Every other year my dad hosts The Solvang Custom Knife Show. Within it’s artistic niche, it’s regarded as one of, if not, the top Custom Knife Show in the world.
After learning about this, most people immediately assume my dad wears leather jackets and is covered in tattoos — that his knife show is really just the sharper version of a typical fair ground gun show. When in fact, his knife show is really more of a custom art show showcasing the highest caliber knife makers from all over the world.
Don’t believe me? Check out his site (try to focus on the knives and not the hideous design of the site).
After the knife show we, as a family, put on a classic central coast BBQ complete with tri-tip steak, garlic bread, beans and the works at Gainey Winery in the Santa Ynez Valley. While I wasn’t able to take as many shots of the action as I would’ve liked (I was busy slaving over the most delicious beans you’ve ever had), I did take some time to get some nice family shots of the newly best-friended cousins — Logan and Aiden.
